細かく動くメロディに、同期して動くハーモニー部分を加え、分厚いサウンドでメロディを表現することをSoli Voicingといい、主に管楽器やコーラスなど一つの声部を一人が担当する単旋律楽器のアンサンブルで用いられます。これをピアノやギターで正確に行うことは至難の業であるので、内声部を比較的固定的な和音で代用して演奏するスタイルを特にブロック・コードといいます。
内声があまり動かないのを補うため、通常はオクターブ下にメロディを重複させる(Octave Doubling)ことが多い。正式な音楽用語ではないが、ジョージ・シアリング＊やオスカー・ピーターソンが効果的に多用する。 （You Play Jazz Jazz用語辞典 より）
基本オクターブの中にぎゅっとコードトーンを4-5音詰め込こむわけで、かなり近接した音が衝突します。ジョージ・シアリングはこれにVibraphoneを重ねています。勝手にジョージ・シアリングスタイルとしましょう。
大学生のころジョージ・シアリングのブロックコードをコピー研究してましたが、
内声がわずかに変化すると微妙に色が変わるのでブロックコードはとても難しい。

■ Block Chord
A wind instrument and a chorus call to synchronize with the melody which moves small, add the harmony part which moves and express a melody by a thick sound Soli Voicing, and are used by an ensemble of the single melody playing instrument by which one person takes charge of one voice part mainly. It's a difficult art to do this correctly by a piano and a guitar, so I substitute a fixed chord for the inner voice part relatively and call a played style block cable in particular.
To make that inner voice doesn't move so much up, I usually make a melody overlap under the octave (Octave Doubling), often. It isn't formal musical terminology, but George seer ring* and Oscar Peterson use effectively. (From You Play Jazz Jazz terminology dictionary)
In the basic octave, firm, the cable tone, including 4-5 sound packing, the sound I approached fairly conflicts by a crowded reason. George Shearing is piling Vibraphone on this. I'll have everything my own way with George Shearing style.

When inner voice changes a little, the color turns subtle, so the block cable is very difficult.
