　曲のアレンジで問題になるのはどのようなリズムパターンでテーマを演奏するか、そしてアドリブのコードはテーマに追従するのか、一発なのか…. いつも悩むところです。

　このアレンジはDeodato版です。最初に取り上げなかったのは、アドリブがone chordになっていたこと、キメの世界に入ってしまっていることが、他のアレンジに走った理由でありました。
　それにしてもドラムさんが嬉しそうに叩いています。
「この曲大好き」…….
とても大切なことです。
　曲とそのイメージが三人で共有できれば、良いのです。私は途中でもう少しイメージを壊したかった 明るめのモードは難しい。

A certain day and I brought this music to the lesson of the jazz piano.
It was for checking having created the code musical score from some sound sources.
The teacher pointed out that an album called New Jazz of H Hancock in this was the original text.
Although I had that album, why or this music was not impressive.

The Beatlesの”Norwegian Wood”のは”ノルウェイ産の家具”が正しいらしい。翻訳者も”ノルウエイの森”は誤訳であったことを認めている。先日、私はジャズピアノのレッスンにこの曲のコードアレンジを持って行った。　いくつかの音源からコード譜面を作成したことを確認するためであった。師匠はこれはH Hancock の"New Jazz"というアルバムが原典であることを指摘。私はそのアルバムを持っていたにも関わらず、何故かこの曲のアレンジは印象に残っていなかった。印象を変えるために『少し速めのテンポで、やや熱い感じに』してみました。

処女航海に失敗して大惨事に

遡ること101年前のこと。1912年4月10日 不沈の船と呼ばれていた豪華船タイタニック号がイギリスからアメリカのニューヨークへ向かう処女航海に出発し、4月15日に氷山に衝突し沈没。「失敗知識データベース」より　（処女航海×失敗で検索の結果）

ということで、処女航海に失敗すると恐ろしいことになる。

さて、脈絡もなく、Herbie Hancockの処女航海を突然演奏しようということになり、この曲でいつも問題になる３つの問題点
その１：例のベースパターンが間が持たない。パターンの呪縛から抜け出せない。
その２：アドリブ中にBメロの位置をロストしやすい（この演奏、二回もロスト）
その３：アドリブはスケール練習ではいけないのに

リハーサルでベースのパターンの面白さに引きづられて勢い余ってしまった演奏です。突っ込みどころ満載。このバンドらしい。完成度最低ですが、素材としては面白い。原曲のモチーフからもう少しで飛んで行けそうです。大惨事寸前の間違いが二カ所。

Maiden Voyage is the fifth album led by jazz musician Herbie Hancock, and was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder on May 17, 1965 for Blue Note Records. It was issued as BLP 4195 and BST 84195. It is a concept album aimed at creating an oceanic atmosphere. Many of the song titles refer to marine biology or the sea, and the musicians develop the concept through their use of space and almost tidal dynamics. The album was presented with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1999.

According to Bob Blumenthal's 1999 liner notes, "Blue Note logs indicate that an attempt had been made to record "Maiden Voyage", "Little One" and "Dolphin Dance" six days earlier, with Hubbard on cornet and Stu Martin in place of Williams. Those performances were rejected at the time and have been lost in the ensuing years." A different version of "Little One" was also recorded around the same time by Miles Davis and his quintet (including Hancock, Carter and Williams) for the album E.S.P., also released in 1965.　from Wiki

”羅針盤”の出来るまで（正確に言うと羅針盤座）...... 元ネタ付き。

Pyxis（ピクシーズ）というのは南天にある「羅針盤座」という星座です。南天にはコンパス座というのもあるためややこしいのですが、もともとはギリシア神話に登場するアルゴー船をかたどったアルゴー座という船の星座があり、あまりにも巨大であったために18世紀に「りゅうこつ座」「ほ座」「とも座」「らしんばん座」の4つの星座に分割されました。神話の時代に羅針盤が存在したかどうかという問題があり、「帆柱座」と呼ばれていた時代もあります。

＜裏話＞

実はこの曲のアイデアは2009年4月28日　F師匠のピアノレッスンに行く直前に運転しながらコードパターンを考え、二台のピアノで師匠だったらどういうアドリブをするか、レッスンに持っていったもの。私は譜面や鍵盤を使わないで、運転中に頭の中だけで作曲するのだが、問題はすぐに忘れてしまうこと。（苦笑）

　この曲は作った日が記録に残っている珍しい曲である。もちろん最初はテーマがあるわけなく、コード進行と、アドリブが存在しているだけである。私の場合、作曲はこのコード（モード進行）でアドリブをしたい、アドリブで景色を描きたい、という所から始まる。

Piano 私、F師匠はローズを弾いている。示したコード（モード）進行に対し、どのようにアドリブを組み立てるかのレッスンである。後半の師匠のローズの音がこの上なく美しい。

３年ぐらい放置のあと、私の頭に残っていたコードをAJFBの練習にコード譜を持ち込み、リズムのパターン、ベースでリフ、クリシェのラインのアイデアを考えることなどなどを経て、色々なアイデアをバンドの練習でメンバーで考えた。これは楽しい作業である。そしていつも最後の最も苦手な作業はタイトルを考えること。

AJFBの演奏が上記。サックスの入りがカッコ良すぎる。ベースは次回フレットレスのほうが良さそうだ。演奏は途中大嵐になってしまっているが。

The idea of this music is on April 28, 2009. A code pattern is considered operating, just before going to F teacher's piano lesson. If it is a teacher on two pianos, it will bring what kind of ad lib is carried out. The beginning of my composition technique writes music only in the head during operation, without using a musical score and a keyboard. The fault of this method is forgetting immediately for that reason. This music is new music with which the made day remains in record clearly. Of course, at this time, a theme does not exist but ad lib only exists with chord progression. In my case, composition begins from the place of liking to draw a scene adlib to make ad lib, in this code (mode advance). The sound of F teacher's rose remains in an ear. Code music was carried into practice of AJFB for the code which remained in my head after neglect for about three years, and through considering the idea of the line of リフ and Cliche on the pattern of a rhythm, and a base etc., various ideas were considered by practice of the band and performed. And the work of the very end is considering a title and I am poor at this. 

Moment`s Notice を Casiope 風にアレンジしてみると

「どうでしょこんなアレンジ」といって私がFunk bandの練習に持って来たのはJohn Coltaneの " Moment`s Notice".
Coltraneならではの気の狂いそうな激しいコードチェンジの曲である。
私がbassに要求したのは「Casiopea もどきのアレンジにして欲しい」
例によって、Coltraneのファンからも、Casiopeaのファンからも石を投げられそうなアレンジとなりました。
優れた題材の曲をアレンジするのは肝楽しい。

Dindi, Augusta Jazz Funk Band #118

"Dindi" (Portuguese pronunciation: [dʒĩˈdʒi]) is a song composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, with lyrics by Aloysio de Oliveira. English lyrics were added by Ray Gilbert. It is a world famous bossa nova standard.

Antonio Carlos Jobim wrote this piece especially for the Brazilian singer Sylvia Telles, whose nickname was Dindi. Jobimのこの曲をどう料理するか,,,
広大な空を雲が流れて行くところを少々ジェット機並みに高速化してみた。
所謂、ウチのバンドでいうバカサンバというリズム処理。サビから戻るところは二拍増量
反復練習よりも如何に瞬間現場処理するかのアイデア優先。音楽で大切なことは、反復して身につけることではなく、自分の体から出て来るようにすることのような気がする。
完成度の低い時点でYoutubeにアップし、動画で修正点を見いだすことは大切だと思っている。
　自身の反省点。アドリブスケール練習でフレーズが歌ってない。鍵盤の和音のトップは重要なセカンドラインを構成するのであるが、工夫が足りない。動画で反省。

このバンドはジャズ系のバンドには珍しく月に一回リハを行っている。
その時に私は大体2-3曲新曲を持って行くのだが、このメンバーで皆がどのように曲を嚥下消化し、ある時は壊してしまうのが楽しい。このテイクは３−４回のリハ後の一発本番。反復練習をしているとアイデアが枯渇する。
500 Miles HighというのはChick Coreaのオリジナルでは歌詞は上記。500マイル上空の"愛”のストーリーらしいのだが、空気がないのでは？

"My Shining Hour" is a song composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. It was written for the 1943 film The Sky's the Limit, where it was introduced by Sally Sweetland - who dubbed for Joan Leslie - backed by Freddie Slack and his orchestra.^[1] It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song. The song became a hit, in a version recorded by Glen Gray with Eugenie Baird as vocalist, but only slowly, taking four months to achieve recognition on Your Hit Parade having entered the charts on January 22, 1944 (the film was premiered on September 2, 1943). という訳で戦時中に作られたスタンダード 「My Shining Hour」を三人で料理に取りかかる。リハーサルでは３拍子であったが、本番が始まってみたら６拍子で始まった。（原因は鍵盤）演奏中に三拍子または４拍子に修正を試みたのですが、修正不可能。→それで三人で基本練習。三拍子と４拍子mixのようなリズムで。。。。
まあ、これはこれで有りかも知れない。

本番直前に、三人でリズムパターンとコードを考えアレンジを決める。
この過程で、時々とんでもない方向に飛んで行ってしまうことがある。

このベーシストのライブパフォーマンスはいつも驚異的なのだが、動画でなかなか表現しきれていないため、先にベースにアドリブに入ってもらう。

実はこの曲はBeatlesのYesterdayの譜面を持って行きリハに突入。
BeatlesのYesterdayはテーマAが７小節で難しい。...
イントロのベースコード、パターンをベースにアイデアを出してもらう。

こりゃ奥様得意の「バカサンバ」が良いかな。でもテーマが載っけるのは無理そうだ。

それで、Yesterdayのイントロの2小節のみ借用することになった。
その結果が、このアレンジ。　詐欺をやってしまった気分である。
あとはパーカッションとsaxが入れば完璧。

この曲のアレンジのアイデアは 娘(当時は大学のジャズ研鍵盤弾き） tateishi kazumi trio (?) を参考に譜面を起こしていたものから。
譜面を全員に配ったら何故か読みにくいと不評.。皆さん手厳しい。
採譜者は 中学校の音楽の先生をやっていますが、何か.........　

このようなイメージの完成度の高い曲を「壊す」のは大変なのですが。
原曲にイメージをすっ飛ばしたものになりました。
風の通り道は、大嵐になってしまっています。

小池氏のsopranoが期待通りのやんちゃで素敵です。
ドラムの奥様に三人がびしびしとムチを入れられています。
手前で酔っぱらって受けているのは徹君。

青春 (?) のSavanna Hotline

Savanna Hotline, released by Japanese fusion jazz group " Native Son " in 1979 ,By the time I was a student, which is a group I loved.



なんとも赤面するようなタイトルである。
1979年(昭和54年）：春　大学３年になったジャズ研部員（正確には軽音楽部Flying Dutchmanというバンド）であった私はピンチであった。1年の秋にから世話になっていたバンドの先輩３人が卒業し、部員は6年のドラムの先輩と、３年のピアノの私のわずか二名になってしまった。

その当時毎年4月に大学の前のジャズライブハウスの「きまぐれトム」でOB会を行っていた。その年のOB会は現役部員2名、OB14名とあり得ない状況となった。
そこで私は大学の同級生3人誘ってヘルプを頼んだ。ドラム、サックス、ベース志望の同級生であった。皆他の楽器の経験者で器用な連中であった。5月の連休にはNative Sonのコンサートが群馬音楽センターであり４人ででかけた。その時の一曲がSavanna Hotlineであった。４人ですぐに練習に取りかかった。懐かしい。

このNative Sonのコンサートで知り合った高崎経済大のジャズ研のtpの○山君と知り合い、経大のジャズ研の部室に出入りするようになったことから、どんどんとジャズの世界が広がって行った。当時の経大のジャズ研はまばゆいばかりのハイレベルな人達（真○氏、磯○氏、小○氏、佐○氏、それに現ケイノート店主の松○兄弟）で４年間、ほぼ毎週経大の部活に参加した。私の前のジャズの扉がどんどん開かれていった。

このNative Sonのコンサートで経大ジャズ研と知り合わなかったら私にとってのジャズの扉が閉じられたままになっていたかも知れない。
当時はFusion全盛の音楽的に豊であった時代。（と思っている）　今から33年も大昔の話。　　　　　
自分の音楽的人格形成期だった、あの頃の音楽が無性にやりたくなっている。

モ、ケ、ケの All Blues

"All Blues" is a jazz composition by Miles Davis first appearing on the influential 1959 album Kind of Blue. It is a 12 bar blues in 6/8; the chord sequence is that of a basic blues and made up entirely of 7th chords, with a ♭VI in the turnaround instead of just the usual V chord. In the song's original key of G this chord is an E♭7.
The piece is made even more distinctive by the bass vamp that repeats through the whole piece, except when a V or ♭VI chord is reached (the 9th and 10th bars of a chorus). Further to this, there is a harmonically similar vamp that is played by the horns (the two saxophones in the case of Kind of Blue) at the beginning and then (usually) continued by the piano under any solos that take place. Each chorus is usually separated by a four-bar vamp which acts as an introduction to the next solo/chorus.

ある日のバンドのリハーサルにて
bass「こんなのどう」
piano「そのパターン、この前あの曲でやったでしょう、Love ○or ○ail、もっと音和減らしたら？」
bass「それじゃこれ」
piano「いいかも」
drum「アクセントの位置は？」
piano「最後に一発だけで......」

piano「テナーは普通にやってください、途中で色々リズムチェンジしましょう」

で曲の大筋を決めたあと、邪悪トッピングをいつもkeyboardが担当する。

何度聞いても、このベースライン　「モ、ケ、ケ」と聞こえる。
ベースさん、前に行き過ぎです。もっと後ろ髪引いて欲しい。

" All blues " の壊しかた

Augusta Jazz Funk Band, 

言わずと知れたMiles Davisの名曲を、ベースに少し壊してもらって、ウワものはそのままで、鍵盤の本領発揮。
曲の壊し方にはリズムから責める場合と和音の解釈を変えるというのが主な方法ですが、ここでは思いっきり和音で壊してみました。何も考えないとこのような邪悪系の和音になってしまうのは私の本性らしい。
