"Come Together" is a song by the Beatles written by John Lennon but credited to Lennon–McCartney. The song is the opening track on the album Abbey Road and was released as a double A-sided single with "Something", their 21st single in the United Kingdom and 26th in the United States. The song reached the top of the charts in the USand peaked at number four in the UK.
  The song's history began when Lennon was inspired by Timothy Leary's campaign for governor of California against Ronald Reagan, which promptly ended when Leary was sent to prison for possession of marijuana.
  The thing was created in the studio. It's gobbledygook; Come Together was an expression that Leary had come up with for his attempt at being president or whatever he wanted to be, and he asked me to write a campaign song. I tried and tried, but I couldn't come up with one. But I came up with this, Come Together, which would've been no good to him - you couldn't have a campaign song like that, right?

  Now, jazz-ization of this song was difficult.  It's so difficult to destroy it that the percentage of completion of the former song and an image are firm.The pattern of the base and the pattern of the drum are important.Of a base, that a drum often thought of this pattern just as it is, I admire.
funky which is slightly, a cord work is also necessary. It's fairly good as a performance of a meeting for only 15 minutes. I wanted to break an image a little more.


「カム・トゥゲザー」（"Come Together"）は、1969年9月にビートルズが発表したイギリス盤公式オリジナル・アルバム『アビー・ロード』の収録曲であり、同年10月にシングル・カットされ21枚目のオリジナル・シングル曲ともなった。シングル盤はA面曲で片面は「サムシング」である。
　レノン＝マッカートニーの作品。実質的にはジョンの作った楽曲である。リード・ヴォーカルはジョン・レノン。コーラスはポールだが、「昔のようにうまくハモれなかった」と零している。また、ジョージ・ハリスンの弾くアウトロ近くのギターの高い音は、ビートルズの公式発表楽曲中一番高い音とされている（ハーモニクスを除く）。
この楽曲は、「ドラッグの教祖」とあだ名されていたティモシー・リアリーが、アメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州知事選挙に出馬を表明した際の応援ソングとして作られた（ちなみに、この年対抗馬として出馬していたのが、後の大統領ロナルド・レーガンである）作品である。
歌詞は、直接日本語訳するには非常に難解なものであり、アナログ盤『アビイ・ロード』の歌詞カードには対訳不可能とされていたほどである。ただ大意的には、ビートルズの各メンバーについて皮肉っているようであり、"One and one and one is three."の歌詞には「ビートルズは4人なのに1人欠けている」と、ポール・マッカートニー死亡説の一つにも挙げられた。なお、冒頭の「シュッ｣と聞こえる声は、 "Shoot me"（「俺を撃て」）と歌っている。『ザ・ビートルズ・アンソロジー3』に収録されたアウトテイクの冒頭や間奏部分では、ジョンが"Shoot me"と言っているのがはっきり聞き取れる。また、このテイクを聞くと完成ヴァージョンは歌詞を一部変更していることがわかる。例としては、アウト・テイクでは"he's one"と言っていたのが完成ヴァージョンでは"he one"と、be動詞を省略している。また、アウトテイクでは"knees"と言っていたのが完成ヴァージョンでは"knee"となるなど、名詞の複数を表す"s"がことごとく省略されている。

　さて、この曲のジャズ化は難しかった。元曲の完成度、イメージが強固なほど崩すことは難しい。ベースのパターン、ドラムのパターンがポイントであるが、ベースのそのまま、ドラムはこのパターンを良く思いついたと感心する。若干のfunkyなコードワークも必要。打ち合わせ15分のみの演奏としてはまずまず。もう少しイメージを壊したかった。
